GDMBR 2025 — Day 7: Very Brief Update

Beautiful descent this morning.

Amazing descent in the morning hours through beautiful terrain

Alan and Allison had a side quest backtracking so Liz and I rode to La Garita alone today knowing they were an hour or two behind.

Arrived in La Garita after a big pass Carnero and long descent with varying road quality but dramatic scenery. Just got in before the rain hit.

Plenty of climbing for the day, all things considered!
The early part of the descent down Carneros Pass was the best part

We ended up getting sandwiches and resupplying before the kind shopowners Esther and Joel closed up. We camped in a small cabin for free and the Al’s arrived two hours later and just managed to get a meal as well.

Cool replica features made more dramatic by clouds and a bit of rain

Tomorrow, Liz and I will stage ourselves partway up Indiana Pass so we can tackle the rest in a single day. It’s a very high elevation profile with higher sustained gradients.

Working some other logistical issues too but things are good.
