At the bottom of the mountain in Ontario, we loaded up on snacks and dinner supplies and then headed on up. We approached from the other direction on SH 33 from the first time, which is a much nicer approach. Lots of Sunday drivers out made for an exciting climb, but only one close-call with an idiot who ignored my warning that a car was coming around the blind corner the other way. Thankfully the oncoming car was well to the inside and we were able to go threesies.
The campground is pretty deserted and we have the entire walk-in section to ourselves. We helped ourselves to a bunch of leftover firewood from the sites and had a really nice fire. The rain and thunderstorms never materialized and it was just a lovely night overall. Some quality hammock time let me finish my book and gave Liz a chance to nap a bit.
Tomorrow we’ll catch some time on the 400 trail mixed with some nice county roads. Another 50 or so might take us to Mirror Lake State Park.
Hi guys, looks like a cool trip! I’m jealous, even though I’m not a biker.
