Best Travel Partner Ever!

I am one lucky lady in many ways that I have Ben in my life – just one of those reasons is that he is an amazing traveling companion. Examples? Here they come…

Ben has a positive attitude through every stressful situation. No spots left on the night train to Venice? No problem – let’s go to Strasbourg and bike into Germany! Train 15 minutes late and possible missed connection? Don’t worry Liz, the connecting train will wait. Extra day in Grenoble due to Bastille Day? A dubbed French version of Harry Potter awaits!

Ben is never afraid to attempt a conversation to get us what we need (food, hotel, metro ticket, deodorant); whatever the language. This guy can rock French, but he is also fluent in pointing and number selection with fingers.

Most important, Ben is my one-man support system. He knows exactly what to say to put a smile on my face after a long day of travel. He can also predict my needs. Here’s a recent example:

Ben: “Did you wash underwear?”
Liz: “Crap – I am wearing my last clean pair!”
Ben: “Don’t worry, I’ll wash a pair for you and dry it with the hairdryer while you’re in the shower.”
What a great guy, right?
