Call and Response

Here’s a brief video that Liz shot that helps illustrate something that happens five times per day in between the Hagia Sophia and the Sultan Ahmed Mosque (aka Blue Mosque) in Istanbul. Two different Mu’azzin perform in call and response format, which continues for several minutes. Even while these two are dueling, there are dozens of other mosques around the city that are also emitting their own calls so the time can make for quite a beautiful cacophony.
