We just popped out of the first, second, third, fourth or fifth leg of our voyage to Doha, Qatar. Depends if you count the bus to O’Hare, car shuttle to Park and Ride, car drive to car shuttle, or walk out to car. Sixth if you count falling out of bed. Anyway, starting with our bus leg from Madison, we’re on hour eighteen with about eight to go. We were able to get some sleep on our flight (Turkish Airlines), thanks in part to some pretty effective strawberry melatonin candies supplied by our pushers Ed & Linda, but we’re still running around a bit zombie-like.
It’s nice to arrive in a new country and have things go smoothly. No security check at all since we’re staying international. Plus, our phones “just worked” so we were able to report progress via blog and text. Corey has promised to be waiting for us (2am) in Doha, which is very comforting. Overall it’s been a low-stress start.
In the meantime we’re wandering the airport a bit, grabbing a coffee and bite of food. Istanbul, we’ll be back for a short 2-day visit on our way home. For now, there’s no time for Turkey!
Yeah for your safe arrival! Here’s to an uneventful last leg of your journey!
Thanks — spoilers for future posts but we made it to Qatar just fine too!
