Resting the Legs and Healing the Saddle Sores

Our bodies and minds took a much needed break yesterday and today at beautiful Knapp’s Creek. George and Lianne are in the process of building a house on a beautiful piece of property along a creek that flows to the WI River. We spent a few days hammering nails, laughing, eating, drinking and taking COLD dips in the creek with Grover (their lovable Golden Retriever). We are hunkered down tonight in the tent enduring another batch of August rain (what?!) at Devil’s Lake hoping for clear skies tomorrow as we make our way across the Merrimac Ferry on our way to Madison.
