No, not the cookies. But equally delicioso. We’re recovering from a wild and crazy day watching the Tour de France in person. We were on the border of France and Italy (on the French side) at the Col du Montgeneve. This was the first climb of the day, a category 2 climb, and we were thrilled to be there. We saw a lot of our favorites, including the Schleck brothers leading the peleton as they were slowly (we presume) reeling in the 14-man breakaway.
If you happen to see tour footage, you might just be able to see us 200m from the top of the climb, on the right side, Liz wearing a Movistar (blue with a green M) and me wearing a Europcar (green) jersey. Liz is on the road and I’m standing on a railing, towering above everyone with an orange hanky (?) on my head, big green foam finger in one hand and a camera in the other. Khaki pants if you were interested.
Please let us know if you were able to spot us!
Blog posts detailing these adventures are written and ready for submission but Internet access is kiosk-only so they will have to wait until we have a real Wifi connection for our mobile devices. Patience!
We’ll be in Milan for two nights, Friday morning we fly to Athens, GREECE. About time we did something fun.
