(very minor TdF spoilers at the end)
Quick update, this morning we were up bright and early (5:30) and said our goodbyes to Reims and said hello to the TGV and then Strasbourg.
Very interesting history to this French city. It has been in a perpetual tug-o-war between France and Germany because of its powerful and desireable position on the Rhine river. Today it is French and all the museum/tourist propaganda says that it has always been French at heart. Sure.
Fun downtown area with lots to do. We’ll be here two nights. Pic from our really great hotel room a block from yet another awesome Notre Dame cathedral.
We tourismed plenty today, but it did rain in the afternoon and evening, and it was chilly. Tomorrow’s supposed to be really nice and we’ve got all day!
Oh, and Norway is rocking the TdF this year – go Tor and Team Garmin! Woo!
