Packing – It’s Tricky Busines

I am still trying to wrap my mind around the idea that we will be roaming around Europe in two weeks. My fellow teachers and I received news last night that has made me even more excited to get out of Wisconsin for a while (thank-you S.W.). I now have packing on my mind…

Given that I have to fit all of my traveling possessions into an ultra light backpack (which I love BTW – thanks REI), quite a bit of thought needs to go into, “do I really need this?”.

Here is my clothes breakdown so far (keep in mind that all of the items below are synthetic in nature):

-Three pairs of underwear
-Two sports bras
-Three pairs of socks
-One pair of shorts
-One pair of pants
-One pair of capris (still pondering this one…)
-One skirt
-Three short-sleeved shirts
-One tank-top
-One fleece
-One raincoat
-One swimsuit
-Sandals
-Some type of walking/hiking shoe (still working on this as well)

My bathroom essentials are next on my to-do list. Since we are carrying our packs onto the airplane, I want to bring as little liquids as possible. I am trying out solid shampoo and conditioner (check out Lush) for the first time; we’ll see how it works.
